Maya sat in her room, staring at a single spot on the wall, her body cold, spine rigid, lips parted but soundless. Her clothes clung to her like a second skin, soaked through, outlining every curve, the fabric dark where it hugged her breasts, her thighs, water dripping from her tangled, wet hair onto the floor in slow, rhythmic drops.
