Abraham I sat by her bed as the monitor beat steadily. It had been hours since the doctors had finished examining her and they did not know what was happening. That scared me more than knowing what was wrong. My hand gripped hers like a fragile object. Her skin felt smooth but cold and breakable. I was afraid she had exerted her limits.
