Neither my wolf nor I were eager to leave but I had to fulfill my pack duties and besides, Evangeline would be safe. She was staying in the safest place for werewolves, a fortress. That was kept me sane as I walked alongside King Daniel towards a group of wolves that was waiting for us. They were already in wolf form, pacing with anticipation as they waited.  The night had become chilly and I was glad we were going to shift, our pelts kept us warmer than human clothing. The moon was shining brightly over us and suddenly I was in a flashback of my childhood. One where my mother was sitting next to me outside. She had come to join me when she saw I was in no hurry to get to bed. "Mother, is the Moon Goddess real?" the ten-year-old version of me had asked without looking away from the sky.
