Chapter Forty-Four. The red, orange and yellow glow of the sun filled the sky, as the sun dipped behind the western hills. The shadows of dusk creeped across the winding path that led to the top of the hilltop. Soon the shadows turned to darkness. Eliza gasped as she looked out at the twinkling lights far in the distance. “It is so pretty,” she breathed. She had never seen city lights from up high before.
