I can’t understand Cole’s hesitation at all, he doesn’t look scared, neither does he look angry at my words at all. Completely unaffected by my numerous death threats and challenges to his authority.
Things are running too far off course, his reaction is wrong, my reaction is wrong. Silence sits heavily but I still receive no response.
“Alpha Cole is too scared to fight the little girl”
My face moves in that direction of the speaker, the words manage to snap me out of the strangeness that I am experiencing. I came in so certain of everything.
