The hours were going by too quickly and my body was still refusing to stand. I watched as the shadow wolves and my pack engaged in trying to get to know one another, yet I had no interest in socializing. Why? I shouldn't be this way. I was their Alpha, it was my responsibility to care. I was about to ask them to throw their lives into the hands of complete strangers, and for some reason it sort of felt like it didn't matter.
