POV (ALEC) The world becomes a pretty simple place when you only think about one thing. Climbing ranks.  Having a goal can completely consume you, to the point that nothing else matters. Each morning I would wake up and taste it on my tongue, like a drug that would pull and lull me into its sweet embrace.  Even when my body would do everything in its power to remind me of what lay unconscious and close to death, near by, I would not face it.  I had become locked in a perpetual battle of blood, violence, and denial.  There were moments I would feel sick or lose my footing in the ring, and go down so hard I would see stars, but I would not stop.  My breathing may become erratic in the night or even during dinner, but after a while I learned how to push past it.  Soon any thought of what my
