“Jace!” I looked over to my right and saw Vivian, Miles' daughter, jogging up to me. I'd known this woman for two years, and she was as close to family as I had, just like Miles was. Vivian was the same age as Ashlynn at 25. She was beautiful and a spitfire. We hugged for a good minute. I hadn’t seen her in a while.
“Dad told me you found the woman of your dreams.”
“Yes, and he loved seeing me suffer as I navigated my feelings.”
She threw her head back and laughed. She stepped back and grabbed my left hand. She looked at it and then looked up at me mischievously.
“I see no ring on this finger, so you haven’t taken this woman and eloped with her. Ralph said you haven’t been in the office. Can I see this angel that made your heart unfreeze?”
