Cattleya lit another cigarette, leaned against the balcony, passively watching the party beneath. Some guests were still dancing, clearly drunk. Others were mostly chatting. It was rather calm now with most of the them having already head home.
Her eyes searched for her good friend and she chuckled, seeing how April suddenly smeared fondant on Kassandra’s cheek, her adorable mocking laugh nearly drowned the sound of the music. Kassandra grimaced, extending her hands as if to capture her and the little girl went running for safety towards her grandfather who welcomed her in his arms.
