(She... killed them all?)
"Tinsley... baby, tell me that is not true."
She whimpers and I know it is.
I am speechless. I don't know what to say. My mind is blank.
“Are you... sure, Tinsley?”
She nods and buries her face in my chest. I hold her but I still don’t know what to say because this is bad.
I kiss her head and comfort her. After a few minutes, when she finally calms down, I help her wash and dry up. She puts a towel around her body and I take her to her room where I sit her on the bed.
“Tell me what happened.” I say softly.
I know I have to be gentle about this.
She looks up at me, her hair damped her cheeks rosy, her eyes redden and swollen because of the crying.
“I was going to leave. I was going to leave the school... you.”
