15 | Warrior Class

Morning came and I had to wake up earlier than I used to to make sure that I will be able to do all the chores and be at class on time. Knowing Hunter, he would surely tell his mom if ever I fail to do my tasks even just for once. He would probably ask his mom to bring me back to the pack, something that I do not want to happen. Ever. I’m loving the life here in camp and I already met a friend, and it’s something I would never experience in the pack, so I will do everything in my power to make sure that I will stay here. I was yawning all the time while cleaning the dorm and preparing breakfast. I had to move and act quickly so I could take a bath before Hunter wakes up. Because if it happens that he does, he would probably do his best to delay me and cause me to be late in class. That she how ‘mature’ he is when it comes to me. I was able to do everything before the sun even rose. I was also able to take a bath and get dressed for the class that will start at eight. And just when I was making coffee, Hunter came out with his messy hair. “I smelled coffee. Is that for me? If not, make one for me,” he lazily ordered, pulling out a chair and sitting on it. He then rested his head on the table and let out a loud yawn. “Why does it has to be this early?” he murmured, probably referring to the training session. I did not bother to respond. I just placed the mug in front of him and decided to make another cup of off for myself. And as he was sipping on his coffee and eating his breakfast, I took the chance to excuse myself, “Hunter, I’ll head out first. I still don’t know where freshmen aspiring warriors go,” I told him, getting up. “I want to find where our class is without getting late,” I added and started to walking towards the door. “Just leave the dishes and the table as it they are. I’ll come and clean them during my break. Bye.” Then I stormed my way out without letting him say a thing. I walked as fast as I could so I would never hear him talk. I yawned and looked around. There are already a few number of trainees who are on their to their classes. Some looked excited while some looked like they had no choice but to attend the training. “Maya!” I quickly turned around when I heard Kaia’s voice echoing in the place. And there, walking from the direction of their room, she looked at me while waving her hands. There’s this big, excited smile painted all over her face. “I knew you’d come this early. We really think alike, don’t we?” “I had no choice but to be early, Kaia. Our future alpha doesn’t want to see me lingering around the moment he wakes up,” I told her and shook my head in dismay. “He also wants everything to get done right even before he gets out of his bed.” “Oh…that’s…that’s just terrible.” She looked hesitant at first, but I am glad she was able to say those words. That just means that she doesn’t get the same treatment as I do. “The prince may not look like it, but he’s actually a gentle and considerate man,” she added before flashing a weak smile. “I’m sorry you have to experience that kind of treatment.” I shook my head at her. “No, no. Please don’t be sorry, Kaia. I’m used to it so it’s fine,” I told her and smiled. “Why don’t we stop talking about our masters so we could avoid ruining our day?” I suggested with a grin. “Better,” she seconded, clinging into my arms. “You see, I couldn’t really sleep well last night. I was too excited to know what would our training be like,” she revealed, giggling like an excited child. “We are just yet to find out,” I responded and she just gave me a nod before dragging me towards the vast open field of the camp since that’s where we think our class would be. As we reached the place, there are already quite a few number of trainees around. Some are jogging around the place, some are warming up, and some are already training all by themselves. But if there’s one thing that I notice, it’s the alpha energy radiating all over the place. Even without knowing them, I can tell that they are strong and powerful. I can no longer tell who are the alphas and who are the warriors since all are giving me the same energy. “They certainly aren’t first years,” Kaia said while looking around. “You’re right,” I seconded, nodding my head. There’s no way these men are first years anymore. They don’t even look like they’re training to become alphas of their respective packs; they look like they are actually the alpha of their packs. The energy radiating from them feels exactly the same from the one I felt from Alpha Lancer. So this is what the camp does to anyone who enrolls here? “Although it’s nice to have our eyes feast over these powrful-looking, hot men, it would be nicer if we find our class already,” Kaia told me with a grin. “Let’s find some other time to gawk at those men.” “W-We aren’t gawking!” I protested and she just grinned. “But anyways, you’re right. We should look for our class now.” “Yeah, before we run late.” —— It took us a couple of minutes to find our class, and it was because it’s stationed at the farthest end of the field from where our dorms are. It’s almost near the towering walls of the camp. If it weren’t for the banner, we wouldn’t have found it. Our class is in an old building that looks just a little bit bigger than our dorm room. The scent of the wooden walls tell me that the room has been built for ages already. And I don’t know why but it feels more comfortable. I feel more at home. I don’t really know how to put it, but that’s what I feel. There are already a few trainees in the class. I actually planned on introducing myself to them as well as Kaia, but they don’t look like they’re here to make friends. The piercing look in their eyes whenever I try to meet their gazes tells me that they don’t want to talk to me. “They’re scary,” Kaia whispered. “I don’t think they want to be friends with us.” “Yeah,” I seconded. “Let’s just wait for the trainer to arrive.” “Okay.” Trainees started to arrive after a couple of minutes, and it didn’t take long for the trainer to arrive. “She’s the trainer?” Kaia whispered, surprised. I stared at the woman who stood in front of us. She looks like she’s just a few years older than us. I don’t want to believe it either since she’s small and petite. “Good day, everyone. I’m Miss Petra, your class adviser and trainer,” she introduced with a sweet smile. “I may not look like it but I am more capable than you think I am. If anyone of you here doubts my abilities, please don’t hesitate to come forward and challenge me,” she boldly declared, looking at us one by one. She may appear to be smiling but she’s actually threatening us. I can see the danger behind her smoky eyes. I just don’t know if the others feel the same way I do. “Kaia, what do you think of her?” I looked at my seatmate and saw her looking at Miss Petra. “She’s strong,” she mumbled before looking at me. “She looks tougher than some of the male trainers I saw during the entrance exam,” she added. “She’s no joke.” “So you also feel the same,” I mumbled. “No one?” she spoke, looking around. “Since no one came forward to challenge me, I can only think of two reasons for that—one, you acknowledge me as your trainer; two, you’re still in doubt but just scared of what might happen to you if you challenge me,” she added, staring at us one by one. The echoing of her leathery boots hitting the wooden floor in the middle of the deafening silence made her look more intimidating. “Am I right?” No one responded. Everyone remained silent. And I saw how a grin formed on her lips before she walked in the middle of the aisle between the two rows of seats. And that’s when I felt tingles. The energy radiating from her is certainly not a joke. “Since no one dared to challenge me, how about I ask someone to do it?” she said with a playful grin. “That will also help me have an idea of what you can do, right?” she asked before looking at me. “Don’t you agree…what’s your name?” “Maya. Maya Davidson, miss,” I replied. “Maya. Do you agree with me, Maya?” she asked. With that, all eyes shifted to me. I can feel them waiting for my response. And suddenly, I started feeling the pressure. I looked at Kaia and she’s also waiting for my response. I don’t know why I feel it difficult to respond. There’s just this idea that something might happen if I either agree or disagree with her. I breathed out and nodded. “Yes, miss. I do agree with you,” I responded. “Okay. Since you agree, why don’t you follow me outside?” She started walking towards the door. “Miss?” I asked, totally confused. She turned to me and smirked. “Well, do you want to fight me inside the classroom? We can just do it here.” Fùck! I knew this was coming!
