Chapter 26: The Lies We Say
(Present- In Jared's office)
(Jared)
"Jade, I want-" he stopped, so afraid to finish it, so afraid even to think about how magnanimous his words could become. It could swallow him, her, everything.
"We can not always get what we want." She said, as if she could read the words that had been unsaid.
Why not?
Why can't we have all we want? Why was there a limitation on wishes and hopes? It was not like the universe was sitting on its high throne, waiting for them to make a wish and then smash it into smithereens. Only we stood in the way of our wishes and prayers, because we were not strong enough to believe.
"We can have anything we want, Jade, as long as we dare to wish stronger, try even harder," he muttered as he grabbed her chin with his itching fin
