Chapter 24: When We Strayed From the Path
(Flashback- Two days after the non-date at DineE)
Jade picked up a fresh looking apple from Megan as they sat down in their usual table at the back of the cafeteria. Today Megan hadn't packed any thing else, because their chef Tilda was not feeling well and apparently Megan's mom only knew how to wash the apple, so did Megan.
"Dad said he could make me some eggs, but the guy is already so busy. I would rather sit and talk with him than ask him to make eggs for me." Megan said as she inspected the apple and then looked at Jade, her eyes turning to slits. "Are you really really positive that you guys can be just friends?" She asked out of nowhere. Jade looked at Megan with bewildered eyes and raised her brows in inquiry.
