I stared at the place where I saw Vex last. This day just went to s**t and I was no closer to getting my son back than I was yesterday. I felt fear bubble up in my chest as tears blurred my vision. What was he going to do to Rex now that he didn’t manage to lure me and Athena away? I took a deep breath as I tried to steady my panic. I can’t afford to crumble now. He said that he would be back and I had to believe that he would keep Rexton alive until that time comes. I just prayed that he would not harm him until then.
