I breathed out a shaky breath as I held a naked Christian in my arms. I could feel him trembling. I cursed Donavan in my mind for making Christian lose control and shift. I knew that this took a greater toll on his body than a shift of his own volition. I was about to ask him if he was alright when a clapping not far from us, drew my attention. Who the hell would be applauding at a time like this? I thought angrily as I looked up into the direction of the clapping. A round of shocked gasps and panicked screams filled the air as I watched my nightmare come to life as Vex, my father came walking out of the woods, clapping his hands with a huge grin on his face that had my stomach twist with memories that I was trying so hard to supress.
