LILY STEPPED outside the lounge, hugging her jacket close. She wanted air. She wanted a moment to think after Jeremiah’s warning about Cassian. Her thoughts scattered like snowflakes. She didn’t get a single second. Gunfire cracked through the cold air. Lily froze. “No. Not again.” Shouting rose from the main gates. Men scrambled behind damaged cars. More gunshots burst through the night, louder, closer. Jeremiah rushed out from behind the garage. “Lily! Get down!” She ducked instinctively as bullets slammed into the wall near her head. Jeremiah grabbed her arm and pulled her behind a stack of crates. “What the hell is happening?” she yelled. “Cassian’s men,” he said, loading a fresh magazine. “They’re already inside.” “How?” “No idea. That’s what scares me.” The gates exploded
