The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the heating system tucked away in the corner. The girls had all gone down to the training grounds, their footsteps echoing faintly before disappearing down the hallway. I’d opted out today because of the injury I sustained during the last fight , though not enough to keep me from moving around. I stayed behind under Beta Luca’s orders to rest and recover. I didn’t mind. Being alone meant no eyes watching my every move. It meant no judgment, no whispered insults, no threats, at least for a little while.
