Ryker realizes as soon as they arrive at the old house that he isn’t ready to face what’s coming. In his defense, he hadn’t known what kind of mess was in store for him until it was too late.
He watches from the sidelines as Samantha’s mom lashes out at her husband rather harshly with accusations that she probably doesn’t even mean. He also watches Samantha’s dad’s face closely, afraid as he is that Mr. Summers would lash out in a more physical manner.
But thankfully, nothing happens. Hell, Samantha’s dad remains silent, and it is probably his silence that further irks her mom into saying, “How could you leave us? I cannot believe you would do that to us, whatever your sick reasoning may be, no pun intended.”
