The library doors were a work of art intricately carved wooden doors that stood from floor to ceilings, it depicted what looks like a pack of wolves under a crescent moon battling what looks like witches or maybe wizards I assume only due the pointy hats on the human like figures on the door. I placed a hand on the heavy door tracing my fingers over the large wolf leading the army…no not a wolf something stronger. The door opens easily despite its size and weight, walking in notice the cathedral like ceiling and the rows of bookshelves that were labeled alphabetically. The library like today is normally empty, not many people come to read books, probably due to the stigma that our alpha favors strength over smarts. Looking around I found a large reference book in the center of the room, it should be the codex to all the books in the library, I began flipping the pages looking for books on this world’s history. Looking through the book I was able to locate which shelves id be visiting, without any hesitation I began to search the library picking up several books including the Royal lineage book, the great wars books, a large map of the territories and a book on wolf shifting. Humming, I made my way to a large wooden table sprawling out my finding first the map I was able to find. The realm didn’t seem that large but then again I’ve never seen it the territory I was in was located bottom right of the map with only on territory bellow it which was the clay pack territory which seemed to be a vassal of alpha fires territory, I had learned there were thirteen territories all lead by a different alpha, and with one major territory which seemed to be the center of this kingdom ruled by the royal family. I switched books to the royal family which confirmed my theory that this realm worked just how the royalty system worked in my old world. At the top was the king of this land known as King Cyrus Lygon the third of his name the Last true born Lycan ruler of the sixth realm. Wow what a mouth full, continuing I saw he had three wives and several children. Below the royal family’s, lineage was the ranking of all territories as sanctioned by the king, scrolling through I had come to find Alpha Fire’s pack was rank among the bottom tier right above the common territories. Hah, took think the people here always acted so high and mighty. I closed the lineage book moving on the great wars of the 6th realm book. This book was not that big, flipping it open the first war was the war on the fourth realm which held the sorcerer, a place of grand magics. The war was fought over the span of 6 months before King Cyrus Lygon the second joined the fight to bring the fourth realm to its knees. The war resulted in a peace treaty where the fourth realm must provide this kingdom with an unending supply of mana stones in exchange for not killing their entire royal blood line…... ok so this world might be ruled by a tyrant if his father was like this. The second and last war this world waged was recent, it was again the second realm which housed... VAMPIRES! My face contorted, so I was one hundred percent living in a fantasy world no doubt about it. I could see why not a wolf having to protect you might be dangerous. Continuing I read the war lasted three days before the pureblood lord of the sec4ond realm and the current king came to an agreement of peace in exchange of marriage, where he married off his daughter princess Namera to our king… making her one of the current Queens of our realm. I was almost at my information overload as I closed the book. I hadn’t noticed how the time had passed but my stomach had reminded me. “Well, I doubt they have a check-out policy for the books here” shrugging I grabbed my last book on wolf shifting and made my way out of the library towards the chow hall where a lovely scent of grilled chicken was coming from. The chow hall was moderately large set up buffet style directly next to the kitchen with tables and booths arranged through out the room while the food was lined up again the wall closet to the kitchen, the room was filled with pack members on there lunch breaks before guard turn overs and training started back up. I tucked my book under my arm grabbing a plate. I began piling chicken on my plate until there was no room left. “What do you think you’re doing “a shrilled voice said from behind me. Looking over my should I saw the familiar face of Doris, the head of the kitchen. “Well, I was trying to enjoy a meal but now my ears are ringing.” I said nonchalantly. Her face turned an amusing shade of red as anger boiled up in her. “How insulant, you should know your place and eat the scraps when everyone else has finished eating!” Doris crossed her arms over her chest looking smug. “Or do I have to tell the alpha you are being defiant.” Knowing her threats were empty I refused to cower to her like she expected. Stepping closer, a menacing look displayed across my face I spoke in a threating tone. “Go ahead let me know how a lowly omega interrupting our alpha’s day goes over something so minuscule as someone eating out of turn.” Doris almighty façade began to fade as I could smell the nervousness seeping from her. “y-you I will see you punished for this” she said turning on her heels back towards the kitchen. I rolled my eyes, knowing full well that women had no actual authority over me, well not anymore. I made my way to a booth in the back plopping down my book and food. Without hesitation I began devouring the plate of chicken before me as I skimmed through the book. The first few chapters were of the abilities that come with the awaking of your wolf. First is the voice of your wolf spirit breaching your mental wall, making first contact which happens usually around your nineth or tenth birthday. After that your knew found senses develop heightened hearing, night vision, strength and most of all your bond with your wolf spirit is established, the stronger the bond the stronger the wolfs fighting form. I paused thinking back Devins senses had always been heightened though she never knew, I remember how clearly, I was to be able to see through darkness since my first memory, not to mention my ability to hear conversations the next room over no matter how thick the walls were. Continuing I switched to the chapter of fur colors, apparently the more solid color the wolf form is the more powerful it is assumed to be with most common wolves being a sort of calico mix while most alphas were almost solid with patches of different colors here and there. The pattern and coloring of one’s wolf was also how alpha’s choose assignments favoring the less common coats. Wow, so a beauty contest determines your life here as well. I thought to myself. Flipping through a few more pages I came to the night of the bond which occurs the first full moon after someone turns sixteen at the height of puberty. Usually, the pack gathers to show support and to get a glimpse at their new competition. After maturing with your wolf your mating gene kicks in on ones eighteenth birthday… so for me yesterday. This gene helps wolves find their true mates as a gift given by the moon goddess to strengthen us. I snorted a laugh at that last sentence. “Yeah right”. I went to stab another piece of chicken only to be met with an empty plate. Frowning I sat my book down standing up, I was still ravenous. I made my way back to the food grabbing more chicken and once again I was interrupted by a familiar and unwelcomed voice. “I also didn’t recognize you freak” Allen said as his goons giggled behind him. I couldn’t help but sigh in annoyance. “What do you want” I said turning back looking at the face of the man whom I was supposed to be fated to, luckily now I felt no part of the mating pull with him, nor did I smell his scent. Taken aback by my direct tone, he composed himself before knocking my new plate of chicken out of my hand. “Freaks don’t eat here now get out of my sight.” He said smirking with his usually smug look. I felt my fist clench as an unintentional growl rose up. So bad I wanted to pound that stupid face of his, but I knew the consequences of attacking another pack member, and I did not plan on spending my new life locked up in this packs dungeon. “I can see you have nothing better to do than waste my time and my food” I met his gaze with an attitude no one had expected. “Now if you don’t mind” I picked up the whole tray of chicken from the buffet. “I have better things to do than waste time listening to your stale insults. “I said walking past Allen and the group of young shifters. Unsure what to say or do, they let me pass without another word as I made my way out of the chow hall and back to my new room, deciding to leave my book behind. After thirty minutes or so of demolishing over a dozen chicken breasts, I tossed the tray into the hallway outside my room like a Frisbee hearing it cling and clang its way down the hall. “Someone will find it” I said closing my bedroom door. Jumping up on my bed I laid back staring at the ceiling, I realized a lot of the questions I needed answered I was not going to find here, and it would only be a matter of time before enough complaints of my refusal to lay low and stay quiet would reach the alpha’s ears. I would need to leave this dreadful place in search of information about my parents, according to my memories I was found on the boarder of the western pack lead by Alpha Lacey. one of the only female alphas in this realm. If I was going to get the answers, I need that would be the best place to start. Now the only question was how I leave this pack, it was no easy feat to get kicked out, normally packs hide their shame by imprisoning rather than releasing pack members, but I never received alpha Fires blessing, therefore I don’t bear this packs scent nor that of a branded rogue. Technically I could just leave, though I doubt the boarder guards would let me just leave without raising some sort of alarm, and asking nicely to leave will get me nowhere. -I help- Reign’s voice rang in my head. -welcome back friend- I said to her through our connection. -what did you have in mind- at this point I was at a loss on what to do so any help was much appreciated. - guard turnover takes long time- reign snorted as she continued – they all do it at the same time , we find right time we should be able to leave undetected- her words were spoken with confidence How was I not surprised the security here was lacking. Having reign here with me helped me greatly as we decided to not to wait any longer than we had too, at midnights guard turnover we would make our move, but until then a nap to help settle my food and recharge was much needed especially since I didn’t know when the next time, I would get to sleep in a bed was. Without a second thought I was out like a light.
