The grand entrance hall of the Stone Estate fell silent as Livia and Adrian marched in with Caleb and Celine in tow. Caleb limped noticeably, his face contorted in pain with each step. His hand was wrapped in a makeshift bandage, the edges of which revealed angry red scratches beneath.
Livia's eyes were rimmed with tears, her expression a perfect picture of maternal distress as she approached Patriarch Alaric. Behind her, Celine kept her head bowed, occasionally touching the reddened mark on her cheek with trembling fingers.
