One by one, the wolves fell back, their bodies battered and bloodied. Amara’s fur was matted with blood, her muscles burning with exhaustion, but she didn’t stop. She couldn’t stop. The largest wolf, the gray one who had charged at her first, was the last to fall. He lunged at her with a roar, but Amara met him head-on. Their bodies collided with a bone-crunching force, and for a moment, they were locked in a vicious struggle, teeth and claws tearing at each other. But Amara’s strength was too much for him. With a final surge of power, she threw him to the ground, her teeth sinking into his neck. He let out a strangled yelp before going limp beneath her. The fight was over.
