Amara’s chest tightened, and she could feel her breathing becoming shallow and uneven. She had to get out of there. She couldn’t stand to see any more of this. Without thinking, she turned and ran, her footsteps echoing in the cold stone corridor as she fled the dungeon. Her mind raced as she ran, her breath coming in ragged gasps. She just needed to get out, to escape the suffocating air of the dungeon, to clear her head. But in her panicked state, she wasn’t paying attention to where she was going. She took a wrong turn. Instead of heading toward the exit, Amara found herself deeper in the dungeon, the passage growing narrower and darker as she moved.
