Let's say you've waited for something to happen so bad and when it actually happens it becomes the opposite of what you had expected or hoped for... It totally becomes a disaster and you are left there feeling hopeless.

I was expecting Martha to be happy and head over heels for seeing me at least, but in honesty she wasn't. She looked scared to even come close to me. It made me wonder how she managed to meet with me last time and had so much confidence.
I took a step back and wondered if I should just leave this place.
