We sat around the small coffee table in the room, all silent and waiting for one of the two men to begin talking. The long stares and the ashen faces they had gotten, made me realize that they were reliving the past, how it began and how it ended. Instantaneously I regretted ever asking them to tell me the truth, but I had no other choice. I felt so helpless, not knowing what the future will bring or why did Roy want to take me. I’ve had enough of hiding in the shadows of my father’s life and career, always following him, but never knowing where we’re headed. At long last, Alex sighed and took the first word.
