My first day back in my clinic feels strange. I went from working side by side with the love of my life; to going solo. My wing is beautiful, De had it built months ago, but I have not been here since my accident over a year ago. I love my patients, but too many bad memories. I overheard Kendrick talking to someone sensually and stormed out. I barely made it a block and was hit by a government vehicle who ran the light. I thought I imagined the phone call until my nurse told me he hired a secretary 3 weeks later; I was still in the hospital from my plastic surgery procedure to try to hide some of my scars.
"Hey doc! Welcome back." My nurses yell all at once.
My lead nurse comes up, "Let me take you to your office boss." I can see everyone's sympathy; it is appreciated but not wanted. I am not a victim, I am a survivor.
"f**k these people boss. Only you know your struggle. They already know not to say one damn word." Michelle has been with me for 13 years; she is like an older sister to me.
"You had a delivery today. I was going to read the card, but it was super sealed".
We walk in to a beautiful array of every color Rose's, lilies, and irises. The card is beautiful as well, it smells masculine and delicious.
