"Opal, are you okay?" Beck asked softly. I was allowed to at least wait outside for Kenzo. I sat down on the front steps, and took my shoes off. It's been over 20 minutes of me staring off into space. "I don't even know my real last name," I said. "Opa-" "I don't even know my real mother's name. I had no idea my mom even had a sister." I said. Then I looked up at Beck as more tears filled my eyes. "Wh-why would she drop something like this on me now? Here of all places?" I asked. I didn't expect Beck to give me an actual answer. He wouldn't know why. Hell, I'm not sure Jane even knows why. "I should think of this as a good thing. I no longer have to call that woman mother. Or that man father. I don't have to be nice to Jezz anymore. I.. don't.. have a family anymore. This is great.
