CHAPTER 42

I was very much pissed to find the other side of the bed empty again when I woke up the next morning. Only the faint hint of his scent lingered in the bedroom air, suggesting that he’d been in the room some time ago but he was now gone. I groaned when the morning sickness greeted me first. I rolled out of the bed and dragged myself to the bathroom to pee.
I was feeling sick and exhausted today even after having a long night's sleep but it didn’t feel that terrible like the rest of the days. I ended up taking a warm bath and got dressed for the rest of the day. He wasn’t back when I stepped out of the bathroom. This made me wonder where he was. With danger lurking just outside the city, I’d have liked it if he told me where he was going.
