Enrico kept in touch with his grandson, and though he wanted to visit them often, he respected Klyde’s request to let them adapt to marriage life first.
That man would sometimes call him to complain about his wife and to ask what he should do. To be honest, he’s not much of a help. He just kept reminding him to be understanding and patient. He should coax the woman no matter how unreasonable she had gotten.
Klyde did feel that he made a mistake, but he couldn’t be sure. Mel and his Pops genuinely liked each other’s personality, and they got along well. Maybe the old man would’ve helped her to be less moody.
Anyway, there’s no point in thinking about it now. He invited his Pops to visit home, and Mel’s reaction when he mentioned it was incomparable to anything else he had seen.
