CLEO’S POV — The betrayal in dad’s eyes as he looks at mom hurts, she didn’t tell him, but in his mind, he thinks she did. “How could you tell him without me?” Dad asks with a broken voice. “I didn’t, didn’t you tell him?” Mom inches closer to him, her worried expression making me take a step closer to them. “Mom, dad,” they stare at one another for another long second before dad sighs, looking at me, “Is it important?” He asks dismissively. “Yes,” I swallow, my throat dry.
