I try to stay calm when I am aware of the horrible image in front of me, as not only is Ezra sitting on Alec's living room couch, but Chloe is sitting on his lap, whispering things into his ear, and grinning like a fool. The image turns my stomach, and I am almost about to turn around to leave the same place I came in, but Alec's voice keeps me standing where I am, remembering the main reason I came here in the first place.
"Abby, you came!" he tells me quite excited, and I smile back at him.
