Brianna held out her hand for Marisol who shook her head at her offer. After not being able to relax enough for an actual spell, Brianna thought maybe instincts would work out better.
“I can’t fly.” Marisol deadpanned.
Brianna giggled as she floated around her doing just that, “We all can fly, we’re witches.” Holding out her hand, Brianna tempted, “Take my hand!” Marisol laughed shaking her head, “No way! You may be able to fly, but I might not be able to! And then that’s my face, and have you seen my face!? I can’t say I wouldn’t miss it.”
Sighing, Brianna shot up and did a loop before stopping. Arms wide she told Marisol sweetly, “My Book of Shadows tells me things, not just about me. It told me how witches all have the same core line powers. Flight is one, so,”
Brianna dipped down and grabbed Marisol’s hand, “Come on!” And then Marisol was being pulled up in the air with Brianna and the feeling she felt wash through her was incredible.
Aurora in her playpen slept on as her mother flew above her, and Marisol couldn't believe it. Marisol was at first afraid to let go of Brianna, but soon she was on her own.
And as she dipped and flew around the room with Brianna laughing, the beautiful stained-glass window shined. The broken glass meshed in a dark ombre purple for the background. A lighter lavender making a beautiful bonsai tree.
But instead of leaves at four specific branches were jewels encrusted with a different color jewel. And as a golden aura shined down on what looked like clouds, the blue sapphire jewel at one of the branches glowed brightly.
It bathed Marisol with its bright blue light as she for the first time felt the euphoria of magic. Her power warming up the inside of her as she became unlocked next to her sister in magic. “Yeah, you got it!” Brianna cheered for her. Twirling around each other, both were dancing in the air, and enjoying being weightless for a while.
Moments later Marisol fell in shock as Tamia came charging in really upset. Luckily she was already landing and only landed on her butt gently as Tamia tried to wipe her face. But Brianna was there doing it for her as she looked at her brother afraid.
Jeremy shook his head worried as he whispered, “Reggie Banks snitched on her. Told the ADA and the two detectives working on this case that she was bought by him. It’s finna get ugly sis.”
Brianna breathed out and said, “It’ll be fine, we’ll figure out how to handle this.” Both nodded and Tamia went to lay down still shaken up. Jeremy came over and smiled at Marisol being supportive, “Good job on the flying lessons. I’m still running into walls like a looney toon.” Marisol giggled as Brianna nudged her brother away, “You are a looney toon.”
Playing offended, Jeremy left his sister with Marisol. Looking over at Marisol looking around a little dazed, Brianna confirmed for her, “No it wasn't a dream. It really happened, you can fly.” Marisol nodded slowly as her feet levitated a little, “I know.” And then she put her feet firmly down as she admitted, “It’s just I can’t believe it. I flew.”
Grinning, Brianna admitted teasingly, “Oh trust me, there’s more. But we need to find your bloodline, someone is your ancestor and they can help with whatever they left behind.” Marisol looked at her friend immediately taking note of those words.
“Someone, I know?” Brianna nodded, “Usually a parent or grandparent.” Marisol shook her head, “I don’t know my grandparents. They died before I was born. And my parents died in a house fire when I was eleven.”
Blowing out a breath, Brianna assured her, “We’ll figure it out. For now, how about we go and eat?” Realizing how hungry she was, Marisol agreed and then went to see Aurora was awake and clapping. Grinning, Marisol picked her daughter up and Brianna ticked Aurora’s belly gently making her giggle.
Walking out of the living room, they were laughing and talking, as more shadows became beaconed to destroy the light they emitted. One, in particular, was scowling in anger at having been told to wait yet again for her.
"Does she know yet?" He asked looking at his faithful assistant.
The man in the shadows announced, "No my lord, I can't get close enough to see if she's found her Book yet. But I do know her power is still buried inside. She hasn't fully awakened yet." Fighting a nasty curse or two, the demonic entity hissed, "Then now is the best time! I can just take her!"
But his henchmen made it clear as he told his master, "Sire if you take her now and she is too weak, you will destroy her and any future you might have."
This time the swears did come out as well as the talons he had on each hand, "Very well. For now...I will wait." Sighing in aggravation, the damnation hissed, "Keep me informed of her every move. I don't want her to get out of our sight."
Black eyes pinned the loyal servant to the ground, "Because once she's mine, she's MINE." A nasty smile spread on his face, "And nothing will keep me from her again." And at the memory of how vicious his master was, the man righted himself, "Of course sire,"
Bowing quickly he rushed to surveillance as the black-hearted monster continue to wait. For now.
