Jeremy was f*****g furious even if he tried to tamper those emotions around his sister. He didn’t want her to worry. Only of course for her to watch him viciously s*******r demons as if they’d personally done something to him.
But when she took a peek at his mind, all she could see was a guy she was sort of familiar with. When he was done sending a demon off with sharp precise moves, Brianna casually asked, “What has Brandon Harper done to piss you off?”
Jeremy knew then he couldn’t hide it from his sister, she knew him too well. Even without magic, she'd always been good at reading him. Huffing, Jeremy admitted, “I went to surprise Cameron at her school and it turned out he went there. He caught me in the courtyard to tell me he’d told her I was a c***k addict. He wanted her to know in case I had caught AIDS or was trying to rob her. I almost beat him senseless, f*****g rat bastard.”
Looking down, Brianna worried sadly, “I knew there’d be risks of you seeing someone like her.” Confused and on the defense of the girl he actually REALLY liked, Jeremy questioned harshly, “What does that mean? Cameron is perfect.”
Brianna giggled a little and Jeremy breathed out feeling like a moron when his sister elaborated. I mean she’s out there,” She said jerking her chin to the humans walking past them in broad daylight. Unaware of what was happening right in front of their eyes, “And we live over here. In the shadows.” Brianna reminded him seriously all of a sudden.
But Jeremy didn’t need the reminder, he was sure he had it all figured out by now. And with everything going on, he had found himself surrounded by darkness. And while his sister and their coven were helping, Jeremy knew he needed something.
Or SOMEONE special that makes all of this worth it. That made it all easier to deal with, someone to come home to, and listen to his insane day.
And his eyes couldn’t and hadn't strayed from Cameron since meeting her. And neither could his mind.
All he could think about and want was her. And he couldn’t lose it. Not when it was becoming better and better with every day they held hands like teenagers and talked for hours like lovers. Jeremy had to fix it, he didn't know how, or what he'd say.
But he knew he couldn't just their flame die out. "I'll figure it out," He told his sister softly, "Somehow...I'll explain it to her." Brianna grinned, "I have faith in you Jere-Bear." Jeremy beamed at his little sister happy to have her on his team, "Thanks sis."
Continuing their hunt in silence, neither of them spoke about it again. But the weight of what was changing kept pressing down on the both of them.
