CHAPTER 23: FALL APART It was Monday morning when I realized that I made a detrimental mistake. I thought I still had another bag of coffee beans in the pantry since I made sure to buy two at a time but there was none there when I went to look—and yes this was detrimental. Coffee was my lifeline, it’s how I survived the day and there was no way I was going without it. Glancing at the time above the stove I decided that Killian would be asleep for another hour or two, which gave me enough time to make a stop in town for coffee before he would even know I was gone.
