CHAPTER 21: STAYING THE NIGHT
It was 9:42 Thursday night when a knock sounded from my front door. Having been reading in my room with one earphone in I hadn’t heard anyone or any vehicle approaching the house so I was surprised with I heard the knock. Since it was so late and I lived in the middle of nowhere I took out my earphone and focused on my hearing. There was one heartbeat and the lub-dub of it was familiar. Since everyone’s heartbeat is unique like a fingerprint I knew that meant I knew whoever was standing on my porch so I put a bookmark in my novel and pulled on some pyjama shorts (as I had only been wearing a large baggy t shirt) and headed downstairs. On the other side of my front door stood Killian.
“Hi, sorry did I wake you?” He asks looking both awkward and worried.
