CHAPTER 25: THE BEAST WITHIN TOLD MY KILLIAN
I stared at the iron door as Charlie disappeared behind it, not knowing what else to do. Six different locks, that’s how many I counted as I heard each one slide locked, each one ringing out a slightly different thud. She was worried – scared – I could see it throughout the week even when she thought she was hiding it. When she thought I wasn’t looking her smile would fall, breaking my heart in the process.
The truth was I didn’t know what to think when I first saw this room; I mean the walls were covered in scratches and the floor in dirt and hay. And then when she told me the truth I still didn’t know what to think – I mean it definitely wasn’t what I expected but then again I didn’t know what I expected. She was terrified when she told me,
