Sadie fired off a few more questions before finally letting David go. The more she heard, the darker her expression became. Not long after David returned to his desk, Aaron arrived.
He pushed open the door to find his mother sitting there, her face set in stone. He gave his assistant a slight nod to wait outside, closed the door, and silence settled heavily over the room. Aaron, unfazed, took off his jacket and sank into his office chair like it was just another day.
