The next day, Sadie returned to the office. She walked straight into Aaron’s room. “Have you cooled off a bit?”
Aaron looked exhausted. The dark circles under his eyes were heavy — it was obvious he hadn’t slept at all.
Sadie had already heard that after leaving work yesterday, he went to Amelia’s apartment, but came out less than thirty minutes later. No doubt the conversation hadn’t gone well.
She could only hope he’d finally cleared things up with Amelia.
Aaron didn’t respond. Sadie pulled a document out of her bag and tossed it flat onto his desk.
Her tone was cool, “You told me to stay out of your business with Amelia — fine, I won’t interfere. But Emily? You will make things right. This is a share transfer agreement — for the baby. Sign it.”
