Emily could only watch as Amelia snatched her phone and used her face to unlock it. The tension was thick. Amelia scrolled to the call log, glanced at it, then tossed the phone onto the couch. “Well well, look at you—playing nice. Didn’t even try to call for help.” “Then let me stay. Just let my grandma go!” Emily bit out through clenched teeth. Amelia raised an eyebrow, then shrugged casually. “You keep your word, I keep mine.” She waved a hand at the two men standing by the door. They opened it and stepped inside, but a few long seconds passed with no sound. Emily’s heart jumped straight into her throat. She shot up from the couch, eyes locked on the doorway.
