And although he would immediately right himself and give her that platonic smile, she wasn’t fooled for too long. That was why she didn’t give up. He never answered her when she asked why he was pushing her away apart from giving her that ‘you’re too young’ bullshit.
But this wasn’t a night that Ash wanted to worry about. No. She wanted to forget him. At least just for one night. So she drowned in alcohol till she literally went unconscious.

Due knew that she told Ash to have fun, but the way her best friend was throwing back shots like it was nobody’s business all of a sudden had her concerned. Concerned enough to put her drinking to a stop so that there was at least there was one sober person between them. The moment Ash lost consciousness right on the dance floor, almost pulling Due down with her, Due knew the exact reason for her friend's behavior.
The arm that suddenly wrapped around Due’s waist from nowhere, had Ash looking up and all she could do was mutter and ‘0oh’, realization sinking in.
Eric held Ash tight, taking her weight off of Due. Then he said, “I think that’s it for the night.”
His voice was loud enough for her to hear. Due skimmed between Eric’s face and the tight hold he had on Ash, she chose to keep her silence.
And instead nodded to his question
“Did you drive here?” He asked, curling an arm under Ash’s knees to lift her into his arms. And she couldn’t help but think that Ash would regret not being conscious for this moment.
“I drove us here.” She replied over the music as the two slowly weaved out of the dance floor. Due curiously looked behind her, but saw no one looking at Eric or following him out. It wasn’t weird for Eric to go to a club, he was old enough for that. But it sure as hell was the first time she was bumping into him in one.
“I’ll drive you two back.” He offered when they were almost at the exit.
“It’s fine. I didn’t drink much because I knew she would pass out like this.” She paused for a moment then added, “But do you even have the time to offer us a ride, you have a date, don’t you?”
Eric glanced at her for a moment, then at Ash who was so far gone in his arms. “Don’t worry about it.” He replied, his expression giving nothing away. Due took a deep breath of fresh air the moment they got outside. She didn’t know what the time was, but it was super cold and dark.
“Where’s your car?” Eric asked and carried Ash to the parking lot when Due pointed out where her car was. She walked half a step behind him, inching slightly to the left so that she could peek at his face, But the man gave next to nothing away, save for the way he so carefully held Ash.
