Brianna had seen the way Riley's own parents had treated her, smirking from her hidden position behind the trees. She wasn't the only one who looked at Riley in disgust, although she did feel the slightest pang of sympathy that Riley's parents had no love for their daughter. If she was honest, she might hate her father, hate being a shifter but not once had she ever wondered if he loved her. He'd shown her without fail as she grew up. But Brianna couldn't afford to be kind, not if she wanted to be Luna and by Jordan's side. She deserved to be Luna not Riley. Riley was just an embarrassment not Luna material. She was surprised when Brianna stood up for herself, her jaw almost dropping open as she saw the parents dragged kicking and screaming, Riley and Jordan heading back to the packhouse.
