Riley had listened with growing horror at Jordan's story and felt instantly guilty at how quickly she had judged him without knowing all of the facts. But as he got to the end she couldn't keep down the bile rising in her throat and turned and vomited into the nearby wastebasket, heaving and gagging as he hovered near her, not sure if she would welcome his touch or not.
