The sound of beeping entered her unconsciousness and Riley opened her eyes blinking against the harsh white light as her eyes adjusted to it, taking in the sterile white walls and hospital gown she was wearing as she awkwardly sat up, wincing at the pain in her entire body.
"You're awake" a gruff voice said and she looked to see Jordan sitting in a chair, his eyes lighting up even as she took in the massive dark circles underneath his eyes, his dishevelled hair and the rumpled state of his clothes. He was still the most gorgeous man she'd ever seen. But how long had he been here, waiting for her to wake up? Had he never left her side at all?
