Chapter 13 Turnaround Ⅱ

1056 Words
“Emm… It’s not that we don’t want to tell you what we know, but we have been arrested for a period of time. The Poison Dragon gang had been the biggest drug dealer in the city. However, we don’t know who is in control of that business now.” “Forget it. f**k off. I’m going to bed.” Although he did not expect to spend his first night after returning to his motherland in a prison cell, Amos slept peacefully and was not worried at all, because he was very clear in mind that even tomorrow early in the morning Emily would come again to interrogate him, all he had to do was remained silent and made a phone call to hire a lawyer to fix the problem. It was impossible to convict him as a drug dealer for there was no one that would contact him at home. According to the law, that bad-tempered girl only can detain him for 48 hours at most. The so-called ten-day custody was just to frighten him. She must want to get some useful information from him, but unfortunately, he was not the right person. But what Amos did not think of was that early in the morning of the next day, Emily then had rushed to the bureau. Last night, she had thought for a long time and had figured out that Amos should not be the drug dealer. Because if he really had wanted to hide the pills, how could it have been in such an obvious place as the couch when he had known that the police had been doing the searching? So, she had driven again to Velvet Goldmine and had inquired about the whole story.  Then she had known that that guy had come here avenging for his mother, and Bob, who was his target was the drug owner the informant had reported. Hot-tempered but not ill-natured, Emily thought that the one-night’s confinement was the punishment enough for Amos, therefore, she went straight to the bureau in the morning and determined to set the rascal free. After opening the door of the interrogation room, however, she did not find Amos. And then she trotted to the office to find Mark. “Where’s the rascal last night?” Emily asked discontentedly. “Well, Boss, because there’s concrete evidence to prove that he is dealing drugs… and followed the order… he has been put in a high-crime cell…” Mark faltered. “What?! Who gave you the order? Even if the poison was his, he shouldn’t have been put in that cell. Don’t you know that people who go in there will be tortured to death?! Go and check how he is doing!” Without waiting for Mark to finish, Emily shouted and hurried towards the prison cell. She was very clear about the high-crime cell, where there were a bunch of felonries who should be sentenced to death but ended up delay justice because of various ineffable reasons. If that rascal was tortured by those people, it should blame her. When she came to the serious criminal prison cell, she kicked the door open hurriedly. But after seeing the circumstance clearly inside, she was stunned. She had just worried so much that he would be ruthlessly tortured, but now, this guy was lying on the bed at ease and the group of ferocious criminals was serving him altogether with someone kneading shoulders, someone massaging legs and so on. “Nice treatment.” Emily said with an angry smile. “I have considered that you are being set up, but now, I’m certain that you are a diamond in the rough.” Feeling the fierce but curious stare, Amos felt like he was prey. “Come on, let’s talk.” Giving him a meaningful look, and then Emily turned and left. Looking at the curvy figure, Amos shook his head. What a perfect face and figure! A wonderful choice to be my girlfriend! But such a bad temper! What a pity! Seeing the devil out of the cell, the big guys inside were all like having an amnesty. Looking at their faces with reverence and awe, Amos laughed in his mind and followed Emily walking out of the cell. And when he was passing by Mark, he peeped out a meaningful smile. He’s not gonna let this go easily. And that smile made Mark freak out. Damn! Who is that guy on earth?! He just overpowered all these felons in one night?! Will there be any retribution for him for taking him in? Well! It will be okay! It wasn’t my idea anyway... He should come to Louis. After thinking like this, Mark was also relieved. Once again in the narrow interrogation room sitting opposite, the mentality of Emily and Amos changed a lot. The former was to feel that she misjudged that guy as an average person, while the latter was to feel that this little girl had her conscience for she had come to find him after knowing that he was in a serious criminal prison cell. “Let’s be honest, Amos. Who the hell are you?” Amos did not answer immediately. He crossed his legs and took out a cigarette slowly out from the pocket. He sniffed it and looked at Emily. “Do you mind?” “Not at all.” To Amos’s surprise, Emily just slightly twitched her mouth but get not got mad. If people who were familiar with her witnessed this scene, they would certainly think that they were looking in the wrong. “Well, my pleasure.” Emily was speechless. She really did not understand how he can be of self-confidence and dared to flirt with her in the police station. At the same time, she was more frustrated to find that her usual approach to the suspect did not seem to work on him at all. And his identity was confirmed that he was of British nationality. It was true that she can do nothing to him. But she was not reconciled to let this man go out so easily.
