“Iced Americano, please.”
Just now only looking at Rebecca, Amos had forgotten to order his favorite.
Such hot weather! He really needed an iced drink to refresh himself.
In fact, he felt hot and dry completely because of Rebecca’s body. After walking into the coffee shop with air conditioning, that feeling inexplicably disappeared. As to the iced Americano, he just got used to it.
The waiter soon served up a cup of iced Americano. Amos took a deep breath and had to give out such a sigh with emotion:
The habit was so frightful.
And in addition to iced Americano, the girl called Zoe was the other one.
This girl who had already left him and been in another world was his most beautiful but painful memory. He was not allowed others to mention her, but he could not control his missing.
Yes, he was missing Zoe very much.
Whether it was a momentary trance during the day or a long nightmare at night, it’s all driven by her beautiful face. However, he was clear than anyone that no matter how touching his love to her, she won’t be by his side again.
What’s more, the so-called touching love, perhaps, was just a joke.
Amos inexplicably remembered a sentence that just about summed him up.
Sometimes, we were just moved by ourselves.
Sipping his iced coffee, Amos gave a silent sigh and looked back at Rebecca’s office.
To be able to know all the situation thoroughly, including this secret coffee shop, was not the credit of himself. All the information he needed had been prepared by Mr. White, and had been in a sealed file pocket and had put in the Maybach’s front seat. Therefore, he had found it on the car as soon as he had gotten in the car. The info was all about Rebecca, including all the characters of the Whites, her living environment, W, the details of the nearby facilities, and so on.
“If that little girl knew her grandfather was selling her out like that, she would certainly freak out”.
Amos grinned and drank coffee, comfortable to the extreme.
As the king in the mercenary world, he did not feel the behavior Mr. White had done was improper. The important private information can ease him a lot burden, of course, also can protect Rebecca better.
The next moment, though, his gaze was sharp through the café’s glazed window to Rebecca’s office.
Just for a moment, Rebecca was not there anymore!
The whole mental state of Amos was immersed in a state of alert. And he had the impulse to break the window and rush into W to find her. However, even if Rebecca did disappear, he would not have done so.
Thought of that, Amos smiled lightly and changed his seat while flipping the switch a button of an apparatus in his pocket.
Not in a short while, the voice of Rebecca was in Amos’s ear.
“So sorry, I am late!”
At the same time, Amos was in the position that in front of the window which was facing a meeting room of W where Rebecca was there.
The sight of Amos fell on a certain place of Rebecca, and then he smiled with an evil charm:
“So fabulous! Just looking at it can make me a nosebleed. If I can feel it with my hands, I might be able to touch the sky”.
If Rebecca knew what Amos had in mind, she would beat him to death. But now she could not hear him.
But his words, full of ambiguous meaning, caused a woman sitting next to him to complain:
“Well, how come such a person can be in the cafe? Such a person with bad manners, it’d better ask him out now! If my design can not be finished, it would be him that I should blame and ask for a compensation for my loss!”
This woman, in fact, had stared at Amos discontentedly when he had changed his seat. The action that he had moved around made her distracted and had wanted to make a complaint to the waiters. And after having heard him saying the obscene words, she just bridled up towards a waiter.
Affirming that Rebecca had sat down in the meeting room and began the morning meeting, Amos then turned around and looked at the woman.
She was more than 30 years old, with the charm of maturity. A black professional suit suiting her well made her more impressive. Oval face, fair skin, black long hair tied up as a bun and gold-rimmed spectacles.
On the whole, it was a woman who could be scored eighty out of ten, and a fly in the ointment was the words coming out of her mouth, which was a little mean with a bad tone.
The waiter was embarrassed by the woman. But she was right too. The cafe in principle should avoid such a person being in such a casual dress and with defiant behaviors. However, ten minutes before the man came to the cafe, the duty manager had received a mysterious phone call. After communicating with the mysterious person on the other end, the duty manager had waited at the door braving a cold sweat. And he had respectfully welcomed Amos in. During the whole process, no one in the café had a chance to criticize his casual dress. After that, all the waiters had received an instruction: whatever this man did in the cafe, they were not allowed to disturb him.
All the waiters had been taken aback by the command, and someone even muttered, “Can’t we stop him even he wants to put a bomb here?”
The duty manager had been silent for a moment, then had silenced the waiter with one sentence:
“Do you think there’s any chance to stop him if he does carry a bomb? Don’t talk nonsense! Even so, you should facilitate him!”
There had been an uproar, and everyone could get the message from the manager on duty:
This young man was not ordinary!
