It's been incredibly difficult saying goodbye to my friends and this place. In a way, it became my safe haven. Today, Aaron asked me to join him on a walk around town. It's a beautiful place, full of greenery, and the skies are always free of pollution—unlike home, where such skies are a rarity.
"Come on, I'll treat you to a delicious dinner, as always." He's been down since the day he found out I'm leaving, and it pains me to see him like this. It's hard enough dealing with the twins, who've been sleeping with me every night, already missing me before I'm even gone.
He drives us to one of our favorite spots, a small eatery owned by a kind woman who frequents the clinic. She welcomes us with a warm smile.
