The second the front door closed behind us, Gray yelled from inside. “BE HOME BEFORE DARK!” Riley stopped halfway down the path but I kept walking. “Don't encourage him.” I said. “I didn't say anything.” She defended. “You’re laughing.” Behind us, the door opened again. “AND REMEMBER WHAT I SAID ABOUT PROTECTION!”
