Jaxon POV The campus had grown quieter by the time I reached the athletic centre. Most of the lights inside the arena had already been switched off, leaving only the soft glow from the offices overlooking the ice. The echo of my footsteps followed me down the empty hallway. Coach Reynolds' office door stood open. He was slipping papers into a worn leather briefcase when he looked up. "I was wondering how long it'd take.” I stopped in the doorway. "You knew I was coming?” He smiled. "I know my captain.” I leaned against the frame. "I need your advice.” Coach closed the briefcase but didn't pick it up.
