Eira woke up being in a pair of strong arms. She lifted her head up and saw Brynjar carrying her, holding her close to him. They were headed to the ship for the trip. Everybody was getting prepared. Mothers held their sleeping children while the men put everything on the boat. Once Brynjar got on the boat, he put Eira down so she could check it out. Eira walked around the big ship, checking out the wooden material. She hated to admit it, but she was looking forward to the trip.
"Food and everything is in the storage area." Brynjar's friend, Bjarke said. "I do need to bring something up to you. Is anybody staying here to protect the town?"
"Yes." Gunbrand answered for Brynjar. "Even though, we haven't been attacked in five years."
Brynjar laughed with the rest of his clan.
"Don't worry, we'll be fine." Ceidra said as she joined Gunbrand's side.
"My other wives are staying behind." Gunbrand said. "They don't like to participate in raids. Then, some of the women and children are staying. Majority of the males are coming, but I had some stay behind."
"Are you coming?" Brynjar asked Bjarke.
Bjarke turned to his friend for nine years and extended his hand to him. Brynjar took his hand and they shook.
"You already know I have to join you." Bjarke said to Brynjar.
"Always by my side like a true friend should."
The two men released and Brynjar turned to find Eira glancing out into the waters. Eira turned to Brynjar and gave him a smiled before she glanced back towards the water.
"I hope you guys are f*****g on this trip?" Sigurd asked Brynjar.
Brynjar glanced at Destin and Sigurd as they approached the side of Brynjar's mother.
"If there's time." Brynjar told them.
"Are you scared?" Destin asked. "You could always tell us if it gets too hard. Something like that, needs to be filled."
Hildun walked over and joined the conversation.
"Still haven't touched her, my dear cousin?" He asked. "I'm starting to think you can't get it up. Maybe you need to hand her over to a real man."
Destin and Sigurd laughed and Brynjar just glared at Hildun for that remark.
"You seem to know a lot about women and yet, you never got one around you." Brynjar stated.
"Alright, boys." Gunbrand chuckled. "That's enough."
Hildun did not like Brynjar's comment.
"And yet, we're talking about you, not me."
Sigurd and Destin stared at the two in front of them.
"You could touch one girl that's not your wife, but can't touch the one that became it. Typical Brynjar."
That angered Brynjar. Gunbrand saw the rage in his son's eyes. His eyes turned from the normal color to red, instantly. Hildun knew nothing of what was going on and yet, he was able to say so much.
"Brynjar, he was kidding." Destin said. "We all were."
That caught Eira's attention. She had heard everything that Hildun said to her beau. When Eira glanced at the group, she noticed everyone had backed up from Brynjar. She moved from the side of the boat and walked over to her angered mate. When she got to him, she felt the radiating heat rising from the Dragon Jarl. Eydis rushed over to the crowd and saw her brother in rage.
"What happened?!" She shouted.
"Hildun pissed him off!" Gunbrand shouted.
"If he doesn't calm down, he'll destroy this ship!" She shouted.
Eira looked over to Ceidra and Ceidra had her eyes on Eira. What was Eira doing, Ceidra thought to herself. Nobody was able to stop her son from getting that way. The best thing was to have him ride it out. But, Brynjar was furious. Hildun disrespected him. No way was he going to let him get away with that.
His eyes stayed glued to the one person he loathed and as he was ready to kill him, Eira got in his way. With what she was, she was able to handle his type of heat level. She slowly walked up to him and she wrapped her arms around his waist. The clothes she had on, began to burn from his temperature.
She stared up into his glowing red eyes and she began to chant a calming spell to calm his dragon down.
I give you my strength, my will, my powers to remove the flames from this dragon…
As Eira repeated these words to her husband, the spell began to show its face. Once she felt the wind pick up, she stopped repeating the spell and let the spell take over. However, she did have some words to help with the calming. Something he needed to hear from her heart. She thought of the words to say and began to say it to him through mind.
"Don't let nobody get to you over our relationship." She said in her head. "Who cares what he thinks of you. I am your wife and your last. Whenever you are ready, I will be ready. Nobody is a better man than you, Brynjar. That's why he said those things to you. He knew your weakness."
Just hearing her say those words calmed Brynjar down a lot faster. The heat that formed from his anger, cooled down. Eira glanced into his eyes once more and noticed that the redness had disappeared. He was no longer angry.
Brynjar kneeld down and wrapped his arms around her, breathing hard. His body shook from the heated moment he just had.
"Finally, you found someone who can tame that damn dragon!" Gunbrand shouted.
Sigurd and Destin walked over to Eira and Brynjar. Destin helped Eira up while Sigurd dealt with Brynjar. Brynjar was weak and tired. Almost releasing his dragon drained him.
"I'll handle the ship preparations." Sigurd told him. "You get your rest."
"Where is she?" Brynjar asked as he leaned against Sigurd for help.
Sigurd led Brynjar to his room in the lower deck. He helped his brother to the bed and Brynjar hopped on, getting comfortable. Now, all he needed was his wife next to him.
"Destin got her." Sigurd said.
"Bring her here. I want to be with her."
Sigurd nodded and walked out of the room. Brynjar laid down on the bed and his eyes closed right after.

Eira stood next to Destin and Eydis as they waited for Sigurd to tell them what to do next. Alva walked over to them and she turned her attention to Eira.
"You want an reward for being able to calm your husband?" Alva asked her.
"Don't start, Alva." Destin said. "She did something you couldn't even do."
Alva rolled her eyes at Destin and a smirk formed on her face. Eira wanted to know what was so funny.
"By the way, Hilda is back." Alva announced.
Eydis and Destin just stared at her. Eira did not know who Hilda was. All she knew was that she was somebody of the clan.
"Just wanted to let you guys know." Alva stated, then she turned to the right. "Speak of the devil."
Alva walked away and Eira watched as she wrapped her arms around a young lady who looked similar to her. Sigurd joined the three and he saw Alva talking to Hilda.
"Hey Eira, my brother wants you." Sigurd told her. "Also, Destin, tell them to go ahead and leave the port."
Eira and Destin both nodded and left Eydis and Sigurd alone.
"We need to keep Hilda away from Brynjar and Eira." Sigurd said.
"Agreed." Eydis said. "I already see that Hilda and your wife is going to be a problem on this trip."
Eydis and Sigurd walked off to do their own thing. Not a moment later, the ship began to move.
