*Flashback* I sit on a bench outside of the orphanage, watching my son as he plays. I had hoped he would be sent to a family to care for, but that never happened. Instead, he ended up in the orphanage at the church. Still, he seems happy. The little boy holds on to a bar, swinging to the next. He’s confident and strong. I hope that continues throughout his life. I pack my bag and walk back toward the woods, heading home. I will return in a few days to watch him again, just as I have done for five years. I return to the house, and Benjamin stands by the trees. I place my hand over my growing stomach. This was not what I had wanted to happen. I thought if I gave in, he would be bored of me and leave, but instead, I am now carrying the child of a man who cannot love me. Again.
