She’s scared, which makes letting her go that much more difficult, but there’s no stopping her. If I tried, she’d never forgive me, so I’ve poured myself into making sure she is as safe as possible.
She’s looked through so many spell books this morning but hasn’t found anything.
“What are you looking for?” I finally ask as she takes a fifth book back to the closet.
She shrugs as she returns with a new one. “I don’t know. Anything that could be helpful.”
I nod, not wanting to stop her. She likely won’t use anything in an emergency if she finds anything. When she’s used a spell, she’s been methodical and meticulous. Using something off the cuff just isn’t her. Well, not anything intentional. She’s gotten pretty good at ripping trees down when she’s scared.
